
21st Century Open University was proudly represented at the recent International Transnational Education Association (ITEA) Workshop titled “International Impact Building for Higher Education Institutions: The Technological Universities System in Egypt.” . The virtual workshop, held on 19 May 2026 via Zoom, brought together academics, administrators, and education leaders from universities across multiple continents.



The gathering aimed to expand global understanding of Egypt’s evolving higher education landscape, with a focus on its technological universities system and opportunities for international collaboration.

The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Watany, Senior Consultant at the Supreme Council of Technological Education [SCTE], who provided in-depth insights into policy direction and strategic development within Egypt’s technological education sector.Representing
21st Century Open University at the workshop allowed the institution to strengthen its global academic network, exchange best practices in transnational education, and explore potential partnerships that support student mobility and curriculum innovation. We value opportunities that connect our institution to international conversations shaping the future of higher education. Engaging with peers worldwide on models like Egypt’s technological universities system helps us build programs that are responsive, industry-aligned, and globally relevant. The workshop was organized by ITEA in collaboration with ICCCM Malaysia and the Supreme Council of Technological Education, Egypt.
